The Black Vests: Inside France’s Undocumented Movement

The Black Vests gained international attention after occupying one of Paris’ most famous buildings. From forcing multinationals to the table to occupying France’s biggest airport, these undocumented migrant workers are putting a spotlight on exploitation, forced deportations and neo-colonial policies. But like with the Yellow Vests, the French state was quick to respond to them with violence.

redfish went to Paris to speak with the Black Vests and joined them from the start to the finish of their action to occupy the Panthéon and demand a better future.
